A former National Guard recruiter who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting potential female enlistees has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Eric Vetesy pleaded guilty in May to 10 charges, including sexual battery and official misconduct for groping seven potential female enlistees.

He also pleaded guilty to corrupt business influence under a deal with prosecutors. A rape charge was dropped as part of the deal.

A judge on Thursday accepted a new plea deal that called for the four-year sentence.

Hamilton Superior Court Judge Steven Nation had rejected an earlier plea agreement that would have allowed Vetesy to avoid prison time.

Vetesy was indicted in 2005 for his actions while working as a recruiter during 2002-03. His victims were students at Hamilton Southeastern, Noblesville and Westfield high schools. Most of the assaults occurred at a National Guard armory.
